I got a message from a friend and all it said was that she needed an afternoon of my time. No other information was forthcoming – for all I knew she could be planning murder rather far in advance and needed help with the body. But since she is awesome and has no history of bloody murder I found her a free afternoon.
Thankfully the afternoon was delightfully spent at Bea’s of Bloomsbury near St Pauls, eating ourselves silly with afternoon tea. Beas did things differently, rather than the normal soggy, stale or bland finger sandwiches we got a selection of tasty French bread rolls filled with pesto, cheese and ham.
We then moved on to our stack of sweet treats. Beas is famous for its cupcakes, so of course the afternoon tea had to include a couple of different flavours (vanilla & mango, and chocolate & raspberry), yum! Not to mention the imaginative concoction that was the passion-fruit marshmallows and the melt in your mouth brownies and blondies.
Tea at Beas, much nicer than a murder.
