Reading through my recent blog posts, I appear to have been all about the food recently. But who am I kidding, London is a foodie paradise so why not make the most of it. You loyal readers will just have to suffer through a per usual.
The best food recommendations always come from friends, and thanks to twitter I now follow an army of outgoing food collectors. When I saw Selena from Selena the Places tweeting about some BBQ place called Bodeans I was intrigued, so I made it the location for my birthday dinner.
When you walk in it looks tiny upstairs but don’t worry there is a bunch more space downstairs (when I have been back subsequently I have opted for the bar so I could keep an eye on the Tower of London while I ate).
We ordered the Boss Hog platter, with the hopeful phrase “we can order more if it isn’t enough between three”. Ha! When it arrived a gentle hush overcame the table. There was meat, meat, meat and a little more meat with meat on the side. It was amazing.
Even though it was explained to us what the different types of meat were, we just ate our way through the barnyard without pausing to breathe. The Boss Hog came with spare ribs, baby-back ribs, beef ribs, pulled pork, burnt ends, chicken thighs and sausages – all we knew was that it was delicious.
I highly recommend this place if you like BBQ but can’t be bothered waiting outside the latest hip pulled pork joint to hit London.
