Mind the Gap

Ok, so I have always wondered why Microsoft Word gets its knickers in a twist when I use the word inbetween. It can’t decide is it should be ‘in between’, ‘in-between’ or ‘inbetween’. After school and university (and a shocking amount of years after) I finally decided to investigate. 

Turns out the word just doesn’t exist. At all. 

If you are inbetween two things, you are in fact just between two things. The ‘in’ is completely redundant and incorrect. 

Between the two of us, I probably should have realised this sooner…
